Self-Cooking Packaging
Intelligent Packaging
Tab-pull pack that cooks handhelds from raw to hot with no external heat or steam—safe for anyone to use
Why This Exists
Self-Cooking Packaging is part of our Intelligent Packaging initiative within Food Technologies.
Self-Cooking Packaging is not warming up pre-cooked food—it is a self-contained BBQ that cooks raw food from scratch within the packaging itself. Integrated heating elements transform the package into a portable cooking vessel, enabling fresh, properly cooked meals anywhere without external infrastructure.
This aligns with Wallace's goal of a truly regenerative food system by collapsing the infrastructure cost embedded in cooked foods—kitchens, equipment, and staff. By moving the entire cooking process into the packaging, Self-Cooking Packaging can capture a large share of the convenience food market (delivery, takeaway, and ready meals) at a radically lower operating cost.
Those savings can be redirected into better ingredients and a far better end-user experience—freshly cooked food on demand, anywhere—making higher-quality nutrition affordable to many more people.
